Peter has specialized in the direction and management of projects, engineering direction and management, site management, contract and project administration for a wide range of major international projects, predominantly power and desalination projects, conventional power stations including cogeneration, combined cycle and coal, oil and gas fuelled steam plant. Many of these are complex multidisciplinary assignments at project director level, all of which required Peter's strong managerial and organisational skills.Peter graduated from Sheffield University with an Honours degree in Chemical Engineering and Fuel Technology, his career technical work has specialised in process system design for power generation, fuel and water treatment systems including large scale thermal and membrane seawater desalination. In his early career he was responsible for significant elements of the design of the airframe fuel system on Concorde.Peter has been responsible for the executive management of professional engineering consulting companies for some 30 years. These companies included the UK office of the Canadian company, Montreal Engineering Company (Monenco) as Engineering Director, the British owned company of Ferguson Williams as Managing Director and the American owned company Raymond Professional Group as Director and General Manager. The business of the latter company was acquired by Scott Wilson in 2005, Scott Wilson being acquired by URS in 2010, AECOM acquired URS in 2014. Peter was the Director, Thermal Power Generation for AECOM in the EMIA region until he left the company in late 2017Peter founded Williams Power & Energy Ltd in 2018 to continue to provide management, engineering and consultancy services to the industrial, power and energy sectors.
