Technical lead for a team of Solution Architects, SME’s, Analysts and Designers, operating on the LBG Group Data Warehouse, which accounts for 45% of the IT batch in the bank, which equates to approximately 22k jobs per day/600k per month, growing at a rate of 10% per annum.LBG Group Data Warehouse:Teradata: The database has 60+ feeding systems, it supports more than 150 applications, 2k+ Power Users from 90+ Business Areas, submitting approximately 900k queries per day. Production servers run approximately 250k SQL queries per day, 4,500 OPC scheduled Batch Processes loading 131k tables.Datastage: Performs transformations, Data Profiling & Data Quality Validations, all of which can be processed at real time. It’s the strategic tool to load and extract data to and from the Group Data Warehouse and also to support Data movements for other systems around the group for example HR data, Commercial and Retail Statements, Group Corporate Treasury and HMRC. It currently processes approximately 2 billion records per day, 6k+ OPC jobs.Applications: LBG has numerous applications, including Group Integrated Database, Online Customer Information Systems, Wholesale Data Warehouse, Personal Data Warehouse, Datastage applications (120+), HMRC, Ab-Initio applications (23+) SAS, Rochade and Big Data.As a group, both development and support, we have stringent targets which we are measured against. We must have 99.91% of batch complete, out of 600k+ jobs per month. We also have to ensure the Business Users are on the Teradata box by 8am every weekday morning, even though we are running for approximately 12 hours per night across multiple platforms, relying on hundreds of feed coming into us and ensuring we have minimal incidents raised against the 22k jobs processed.I am responsible for ensuring that when we design, build, test and implement any of our new projects, none of the above targets is compromised.
