My Thesis: Quantifying Complex Behavioral Phenotypes in C. elegans focused on building and running a multi-camera system to detect and quantify movement and posture patterns of large numbers of model organisms to better understand aging and neurodegenerative disease using techniques in multivariate time-series classification and clusteringExperimental and research program design: Set research direction and convinced two advisors of its potential. Won three grants to fund my work including an NRSA from the NIH. Recruited a team of biologists, and computational researchers, to participate and contribute to our work.Programming and Data Engineering: Created data analysis pipelines, data organization schemas, HDF5, MapReduce, High-throughput Compute ClustersPublic Speaking: 100+ presentations including NU events, Conferences, and lab meetings.
