My early fascination with cars rapidly developed into an appreciation for the challenges and opportunities posed by the complex process of introducing an emotional product to the worldwide market. Working in product management for the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren not only enabled me to follow an idea from its inception to the reception of the completed product in the market; I also experienced the difference in philosophies between a worldwide acting full-line manufacturer and smaller yet multi-faceted and fast paced company like McLaren. Retail experience was the missing piece for me. Starting as a sales person, I quickly took on management responsibilities. Spending time were the proverbial "rubber meets the road" further fostered my perception of how an inspired team and delighted customers are the foundation of a successful and profitable company.
