I work with the City of Riverside, CA as their Principal Management Analyst in Finance within the Budget Office. I work directly with the other departments looking to help improve the finances for the City. Our budget group has created multiple operating and capital budgets adhering to best practices and meeting all required budget goals set by City Council and City Management. Having honed my skills within the private accounting field for over 15 years, I now work within public finance to help assist and improve the financial health of various public agencies. I'm very detail oriented have been thrust into, and have adapted to many unique arenas such as position budgeting, creating cost allocations plans, capital budgeting, project budgeting, financial analysis, enterprise fund analysis, accounting, derivatives, currencies, risk assessment, hiring and entrepreneurialism. I've worked both inside and outside the United State and adapted to the very different working & living environments. I love that I learned so much from that experience. Anything that you can take away from an experience is a win in my book.People who are challenged can never complain about being bored. That's what everyone should want from their career. I believe that having an actual interest in what you do makes your career and achievements more genuine. Without interest, blind ambition only takes you so far. As such, I am a devotee of new methods and technology and believe that businesses, of all types, should embrace it. It makes you more agile and allows for adaptation to the every changing business environment.
