At Conversant I work with the product owner(s) and Web team(s) to identify opportunities, develop strategic direction and execute to provide a high quality experience to the users of the management system. The team operates under scrum, with two week sprints, a dedicated product owner, daily scrums, near continuous integration, and business demos.In my role as Software Manager, I am responsible for overseeing the architecture and implementation of the advertising network management application. I ensure that the team is staffed appropriately to meet business goals, work with the product owner to ensure that user stories have sufficient detail and are broken up correctly, train and mentor the team as appropriate, resolve bottlenecks, and communicate progress to management.In this role, I am a hands on manager, contributing to product and technology deliverables as appropriate.

I managed the team that maintained the billing and business reporting systems using the FreeSide billing platform and Pentaho reporting suite. I was responsible for ensuring that the systems were accurate, compliant with appropriate regulatory guidelines (Sarbanes-Oxley, PCI), and would scale to meet anticipated processing loads. We used a kanban style agile process to manage staffing and resource allocation.During my tenure we migrated billing systems, added KPI tracking, and improved accuracy and timeliness of internal financial reporting. I wrote an open source credit card processing module to support the CyberSource processor.

As the CEO, I put together a business plan, financing, and team to purchase two Color Me Mine studios in Salt Lake City and Las Vegas. Operated both stores, selling them at a profit.The Salt Lake Studio was recognized as the most improved studio (Western Region) in 2003. I was singled out for personal contribution in 2003 and as the runner up for personal participation in 2003 for my efforts, including introducing Disney products into the franchise organization. I Served as the franchisee liaison for the western region in 2004.

As the Director of the Technical Services Group, I had P&L Responsibility for the software division of a healthcare information company. We significantly improved product quality as measured by new bug reports. Decreased the issue backlog by over two-thousand issues in the first 8 months using a modified kanban process. We prepared the division for sale.Supported the sale and transition of the division to MediServe Information Services.
