While I draw from various evidenced-based treatment modalities, my approach is warm, person-centered, and non-judgmental. Since there are other factors of our being human that can affect mental health, the focus of treatment is not only on the mind but may include aspects of bodily health, and spirit of the person. In other words, a holistic approach. My goal is to establish a therapeutic relationship that engages in the work of healing and personal growth. To this end, you can expect to be able to identify the life issues and thinking patterns that trigger your emotional responses and learn ways of coping, so you can go on living your best life.

Provide individuals, families with psycho-social support needed to cope with chronic, acute, or terminal illness. Services include advising family care givers, providing patient education and counseling and making referrals to home care agencies, nursing homes, substance abuse treatment clinics and shelters.

Engaged and enrolled patients referred by HIV clinic and inpatient units for adherence support. Administered baseline and quarterly bio-psycho-social assessments and formulated service plans. Provided patient education, supportive individual and /or family counseling and care coordination.

Responsible for interfacing with clergy and organizing efforts to increase intimate partner violence awareness at their houses of worship, organize, and create or co-create workshops appropriate for various religious communities that are culturally competent.

Provided a range of services including assessment, crisis intervention, supportive counseling, information and referrals, linkage with appropriate community based mental health services for ongoing treatment, and follow up.

Carried an active caseload of clients/families. Collaborated with other team members in assisting clients with obtaining entitlements, benefits and housing. Monitored and documented client progress toward service plan goals, coordinated client services with other social service, mental health , medical, educational and child care providers. Provided documentation and statistical reports as required

Engaged single homeless adults in a service relationship. Provided clients with case management and referrals. Escorted clients to homeless shelters or detox facilities.
