Architecting and implementing Customer Relationship Marketing supportsoftware, based on a business model from American parent company. Managed the day-to-day running of the project, including directing a developer and a database expert. This project involved extensive use of the Informix SQL database and a JDBC interface to it. The product had a Web interface, which I wrote using JSP on Tomcat. Understanding a previous incarnation of this product involved using Apple WebObjects, an Objective-C analogue of Enterprise Java Beans. Defined the project quality system and documentation. UML was used in the design process, particularly class and sequence diagrams.Architecting and implementing software to support internal businessprocesses, using Lotus Notes/Domino. Also implemented company's Web site, using Domino.

Enhancing and maintaining software for the mathematical modelling of oil/gas pipelines. Involvement in the scientific basis, numerical analysis techniques, system integration and graphical user interfaces.Included working at customers' sites in Europe and USA.

Initially employed as a control engineer, but quickly moved intomathematical modelling of processes. Involved in optimisation of powerstations, creation of software for design of plastics processing plants andimplementing a training simulator for operators of methanol plants.As well as software development, these roles included on-site workand supervision of student projects.Received CEO's Award for Excellence in 1997.
