Hollings Scholarship

Seattle, Washington, United States

Through my Hollings Scholarship with NOAA I am working on a project with colleagues about the ecological impacts of a salmon recolonization event on an aquatic ecosystem. I thoroughly learned sampling methods and protocol for biofilm, macro-invertebrates, and salmonids, though I was unable to participate directly due to Covid.I presented initial findings at an office-wide conference with the NOAA Northwest Fisheries Science Center as well as at the Society for Freshwater Science and Western Division of the American Fisheries Society. Our analysis has continued following the end of the initial internship with the incorporation of additional factors and datasets with further analysis in R, and the preparation of a report to submit for publication.
