Peter Rowles is a professional engineer with valuable and extensive experience in the energy and environmental sector. He is a self-motivated, results-oriented professional with a career spanning more than 40 years. Mr. Rowles has completed projects in Canada and internationally. He has worked for utilities, government agencies, engineering companies and manufacturers in various capacities. Responsibilities have included engineering, consulting, business management, business development, research and development and government liaison. Throughout his career, Mr. Rowles has been involved in the start up of 10 privately owned energy/environmental companies. In most cases, Peter was a founding shareholder, director and senior officer. Three of these companies ultimately became publicly traded in the U.S. or Canada. Peter is active in providing energy efficiency advisory services to government agencies, energy utilities and energy service providers. His understanding of energy use and opportunities for distributed energy resources and decarbonization in various sectors provides valuable insight and support for resource planning and program implementation. Peter is a founding Board Member of the Association of Energy Service Professional’s Ontario Chapter. He is a Director on the Board of the Canadian Coalition for Green Health Care and recently served as a member of the Ontario Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) Technical Panel . Mr. Rowles was a Volunteer Advisor to the MaRS Discovery District in its Cleantech practice and served as Chair of BOMA Toronto’s Energy Committee.Peter has Bachelors of Engineering and Business Management degree from McMaster University and is a Professional Engineer registered in the Province of Ontario. In 2014, he received the Chartered Director designation from the Directors College (a joint venture of McMaster University and the Conference Board of Canada).
