About Peter Ashley

I love moving the needle and have achieved results in a variety of executive management, business development and fund raising roles with start-ups and Fortune 500 companies alike. I am the COO of BeanAI.com, an AI company serving Accounting and Finance teams across all industries. I've closed deals that move the needle including strategic distribution deals and direct sales. I help with the fundraising process along with other management responsibilities.I have been working in the AI industry for two years. I was previously the interim Head of Business Development for Lucinetic AI, where I prospected clients in a range of industries in which highly technical and time consuming letter writing is required. I worked with academics, doctors, lawyers and other professional service industries to refine Lucinetic's artificial intelligence "authentic voice" letter writing platform to directly address their needs for technical writing and security. My interest in AI was seeded while studying Philosophy of Mind and Cognition under at Tufts University Dan Dennett. My first role in the field was SVP of Marketing and Business Development at Opinmind (now Adara.) I helped define the product strategy for this machine learning company and drafted the Series B fund raising deck that we used to close $6.4MM from Morganthaler, Onset and Baseline Ventures in July, 2008.I joined PayPal in 2001 as one of the first one hundred employees at the Embarcadero Road office – making me a member of the PayPal Mafia. I immediately went to work on a product designed to preserve our presence on the eBay platform by endearing us to eBay’s coveted Power Sellers. I closed the first ever, online shipping aggregation deal with UPS, providing the foundation for PayPal’s Shipping Center and locking eBay out of a UPS deal. I designed and executed the go-to-market strategy for PayPal's Large Merchant Services (LMS) business. I built the channel sales team and closed the first deals integrating PayPal into payment gateways. I closed the marquee deals including Apple iTunes - the first billion-dollar retailer to integrate PayPal as a payment mark and propel PayPal to become the ubiquitous payment processor it is today.I earned an MBA from Stanford's Graduate School of Business and a BA from Tufts University.

Listed skills include Start Ups, Strategy, Entrepreneurship, E Commerce, and 44 others.

Lucinetic Letters is an AI platform developed by a team from Caltech, Yale and NASA to reduce the time professors commit to writing PhD recommendations. "Letters" is trained from the author’s own writing/letters to ensure that recommendations (and other letters) generated by the author are in her "authentic voice". The platform enables the student to complete basic inputs (name, classes taken w recommender, links to projects or abstracts, CV etc.) then prompts the Professor to generate the letter, which can be regenerated to be more enthusiastic or cautious, or edited in any way the author chooses. As Head of Business Development, I meet with prospective clients in a range of industries in which highly technical and time consuming writing is required. We are working with academics, doctors, lawyers and other professional service industries to refine Lucinetic's platform to directly address their needs for technical writing and uncompromised security.
