I have first-hand experience working in and with the media and civil society in Uganda. I have practiced strategic communications roles with civil society. I have been involved in planning, managing and coordinating various communication programs and activities. Previously, I worked as the Coordinator of the Media Program at the NGOs Election Monitoring Group - Uganda (NEMGROUP-U), a consortium of NGOs that monitored the 2000-2002 Uganda Presidential, Parliamentary and Local Government elections. I also worked as General Secretary of Uganda Journalists Safety Committee (UJSC), a press freedom watchdog, monitoring press freedom in Uganda on an ongoing basis and advocating for freedom of expression. I have also been a reporter and editor. I have strong advocacy skills and solid experience in advocating for social change.
