The 2017 Canadian Hockey League season marked the 99th anniversary of the Memorial Cup, one of the most prestigious championships in North American sport. As one of the Host Organizing Committee (HOC) leads representing the City of Windsor, I worked side by side with both the Event Manager and Operations Manager daily in developing and executing many different aspects of the 2017 MasterCard Memorial Cup such as marketing and branding tactics, signage, pamphlets, media appearances. My role as an HOC lead included:- Facilitating all logistical needs for the MasterCard Memorial Cup Fan-Zone, as well as creating and developing effective floor plans with allotted space for participating exhibitors and vendors. I also communicated with all vendors leading up to the event in order to plan move in times and ensure that all requirements are met. - Managed a team of 80-100 volunteers, arranging positions and roles for each. - Organized creation of Windsor's portion of the Memorial Cup media guide.

While completing my graduate studies, I worked closely with a number of different Professors in the University of Windsor's Faculty of Human Kinetics as a Graduate Assistant. My role served as a strong connection between both the Professors and Undergraduate students enrolled. This role entailed:- Providing office hours on a regular basis to provide effective feedback and best practices for students. This included evaluating spelling, grammar, and sentence structure in essays, as well as course content and solid studying habits in preparation for exams. - Assisting Professors in the grading and marking of long form essays, and exams. - Proctoring exams, grade tabulation.

The Windsor International Film Festival (WIFF) is the second largest volunteer run film festival in Canada. Spanning six days, the 2016 edition featured 165 screenings of 107 films from 22 countries. WIFF 2016 also set new highs for revenue, selling over 20,000 tickets. - I had the opportunity to work alongside and shadow the Executive Director of WIFF, Vincent Georgie, where I gained further understanding of the process of successful event execution. Other elements of my role included:- Coordinating media availability for interviews and appearances.- Analyzing and evaluating of all interactions during the festival, including meetings with board members, corporate sponsors, film directors, actors, and patrons.

My internship during the summer of 2016 focused on preparation for the RBC Canadian Open, the only PGA TOUR event stop in Canada.
