Uncertain times present us with a choice. Either we fear the unclear path ahead or we relish the freedom to shape our future. As an independent-minded man who judges opportunities on their strengths rather than risks, I tend to choose the latter.I’m from east London, where I began my career as a local newspaper reporter. I followed the well-trodden path to become a sub-editor, at the Independent and Sunday Business, and later became a production editor at the Times Educational Supplement. However, two factors pulled me away from that path. The first was the rise of digital media, which has allowed me to indulge my interest in political, economic and environmental developments. The second was a growing ambition to develop truly impactful solutions for that approaching, climate-changed world. I believe in acknowledging reality and actively working towards a sustainable future.Relocating to the Thanet coast in 2007 and eventually settling in Ramsgate, I became more entrepreneurial. I founded GreenerLiving magazine in the same year, just in time for the financial crash. But I’m nothing if not determined and remained committed to developing impactful projects. I’ve since spearheaded two initiatives: the Green Plaque, an environmental assessment and award for building design, construction, retrofit and use; and the Osira Network, a global climate finance governance platform and utility token. Both aim to effect tangible change and leverage technology for social good. Now based in Shropshire, I’m looking to strategically expand my network in the green and sustainable business sectors. With transferable skills in communications, presentation and leadership, I love to learn and foster positive connections and collaborations. Feel free to connect if you have a project to discuss, or even if you’d just like a chat. I’m gregarious and adaptable, and I have diverse interests, from football and music to exploring new ideas. I also enjoy different cultures, food and drink. During my free time, you might find me out hiking, exploring new places or relaxed in a cosy pub. Indoors, I keep up with the news and unwind with a film or TV show, some music or by cooking for friends. But whatever I’m up to, it’ll still likely involve absorbing new ideas and experiences. I rarely settle for comfortable predictability and this trait shows little sign of diminishing any time soon.
