Direct architecture, engineering, and support activities for the AlerisLife network supporting connectivity to over 290 facilities including independent living, assisted living, rehabilitation clinics, data centers, and corporate headquarters. Manage seven direct reports providing LAN, WAN, WLAN, network security, telecommunications, and cloud networking design/support services. Work with AlerisLife executive leadership and business partners to develop high-level network strategy, roadmaps, and technical direction utilizing current and emerging technologies. Directed a team of consultants and engineers in support of a full stack network redesign leveraging the Cisco Meraki Software Defined Networking portfolio to eliminate technical debt, reduce operational cost, enable automation, and improve resident/customer experience.

Directed architecture, engineering, and support activities for the Iron Mountain global IP network supporting connectivity to more than 1400 facilities in over 50 countries including multiple data centers, public cloud providers, corporate offices, contact centers, and storage facilities. Directed Managed Service Provider with staff of 30+ engineers, managed nine direct reports and $18 Million budget. Provided strategic and tactical leadership to a global team of architects and engineers supporting LAN, WAN, WLAN, network security, and telecommunication design/consulting services. Directed a team of architects and engineers in support of a data center network redesign utilizing Cisco ACI and Iron Mountain’s public cloud infrastructure in GCP and AWS.

Directed architecture, engineering, and support activities for the Marriott global IP network which supported connectivity to multiple data centers/hosting facilities, public cloud providers, corporate offices, contact centers, sales offices, and over 7,100 hotels across 127 countries. Managed 15 direct reports and $40 Million budget.Led a global team of network architects and engineers providing design/consulting services supporting all Marriott and Starwood merger activities, including outlining due diligence strategy, categorizing operational risks, and intellectual property exchanges. Developed high-level network strategy, technology roadmaps, standards, and technical direction. Directed a team of consultants, architects, and engineers in support of a global data center network redesign to provide stability and eliminate technical debt, featuring a Carrier grade network with enhanced fault tolerance and a 100G capable Core.

Lead network architect that directed network architecture, engineering, management, and support of the Staples IP network which supports connectivity to multiple Internet Commerce sites, data centers, retail outlets, call centers, fulfillment/distribution centers, and corporate offices. Managed 10 direct reports and $25M budget. Worked with Staples IT leadership and business partners to develop high-level network strategy, roadmaps, and technical direction utilizing current and emerging technologies. Led the planning, design, build out, and migration of the Staples Needham Data Center LAN 2.0 Project which included the migration of legacy data center infrastructure to a “Spine and Leaf” architecture and the retirement/consolidation of approximately 120 Access and Distribution switches. Participated in the development of Staples internal IaaS platform which helped to cut data center virtual server provisioning time from 4 hours to approximately 20 minutes. Led a team of network architects providing LAN, WAN, WLAN, and network security consulting/design services and provided governance of Managed Service Provider with a staff of 30+ engineers, providing 24 x 7 network support.

Lead network architect that provided and led high level network strategy, planning, design, and optimization of the Starwood Hotels and Resorts global IP network which supported connectivity to corporate data centers, web hosted services, call centers, properties, 3rd parties, and corporate offices. Managed project staff and developed/managed project budgets up to $7.5M. Provided LAN, WAN, Internet access, and cable plant design in support of the build out of Starwood’s new Phoenix data center that utilized Cisco Nexus switches, Cisco ASA. Check Point VSX/UTM appliances, McAffe IDS, Proventia IPS, and Brocade ADX load balancers.

Provided network architecture and detailed design, implementation and support documentation for multiple projects/initiatives including the Corporate WAN upgrade, Braintree Internet Access upgrade, EVPN deployment, SITE VPN redesign, and the Braintree Cisco VoIP roll out. Provided cost effective and scalable network solutions that addressed the present and future needs of the business utilizing technologies such as BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, CBWFQ, VRF-Lite, IPSec, and VBS.
