I bring 25 years of experience in the Healthcare, Financial Services, Telecommunications, and Not-for-Profit Sectors to my current role as Director of Career Services at Quinebaug Valley Community College in Danielson and Willimantic, Connecticut. I am working with a highly diverse group of community college students and alumni, helping them to prepare for the job market, pivot from their current jobs, or transfer to four-year institutions after receiving their Associate degree here. I am also focused on building partnerships with the employer community, to develop pipelines for student and alumni talent. The QVCC team is highly focused on student support and success, which fully aligns with my values.Prior to this, I spent three wonderful years at Hartwick College in Oneonta, NY, working with talented students and alumni who understand the strength and value of a liberal arts education, and have applied these competencies to a wide variety of organizational roles and industries across the globe. I helped drive positive outcomes for both students and alumni along with my top-notch Career Development team, and built strong relationships with key constituencies, including faculty, staff, employers and alumni across various industry sectors and geographies. I was also heavily involved in event planning and execution, often bringing alumni and students together in various forums for mutual benefit.I have put my personal career consulting efforts on hold, as President/Owner at Peter Bennett & Associates. In this former role, I was primarily focused on helping students and alumni successfully transition from academia to career (gain or change employment). My previous position at UConn was working with talented graduate students in the Financial Risk Management program, which experienced significant growth in both enrollments and placements during my time there. I also ran the Career Development Center at Trinity College, my alma mater, for several years before that.
