This one failed, not because the blend could not be achieved, with the right professionals I am confident it can and will. Over my time I taught income and capital gains tax but spent most of my time teaching; payroll tax, stamp duty and superannuation law and taxes, all at a Masters of Taxation level.

I worked as a junior tax accountant in tax return preparation, advice and other tax compliance matters. My time here gave me what I now regard as a healthy respect for the role of the tax accountant and ensured that I focus my services on outcomes that are reflected in the financial statements. My first job involved an analysis of the taxation consequences of an eligible termination payment and superannuation payout. This is why I can claim superannuation experience back to 1985!

This was my first real-life accounting role which in a short space of time went from being a day-to-day member of a team to being solely responsible for parts of a much larger multi-national audit. I immediately followed this role with auditing for Coopers & Lybrand for another 8 months from Birmingham, United Kingdom.
