Growing a next generation of digital designers. Working at academic bachelor and master level at the Informatics Institute (Faculty of Science, University of Amsterdam), teaching and coaching students Interaction Design (in theory and practice).Introducing first years bachelor students Information Studies to this discipline and field in the digital domain. In a full-time two months course, students learn the essential concepts of the discipline and apply them in practice (project work with external clients).Furthermore, teaching and coaching various design teams of master students Data Science and Information Systems during their Data System Project (a five months course). These authentic projects are challenging from a technological, societal and design perspective. The outcomes of the course are a scientific poster, explanation video, interactive prototype, conference presentation and academic paper, which are assessed.

The UX management circle is a regular meeting of UX managers in Dutch organisations in which they discuss their professional challenges. The circle meets three times a year. Members are (among many others) TomTom, ABNAmro and adidas. BiRDS (on a W!RE) was the public conversation platform of Informaat experience design. The platform addressed topics regarding the application of creative design in a systematic way to customer and user experience (design). BiRDS covered two types of content. First, original concepts, ideas and experiences from Informaat authors (the ‘birds’) which they consider relevant, interesting or newsworthy. InfoDesign 25 (1997-2022) is dedicated to the growth and improvement of the information and experience industries through the provision of a centralised online resource that serves all interested audiences. Contributed to the design and development of a new applied master's program in digital design. Authored multiple courses in areas like Literacy, Research, Creation and Strategy, developed competence assessments of candidate and graduate students according to standardized European levels of education, and contributed to the general vision and mission of the new program.
