My roles within the company started from designing initial sketch schemes for the director's approval, which I then turned into full planning applications, which were in turn followed up by the building regulation drawings. The projects ranged from 1 off specials through to conversions and 100+ plots residential estates. From this point on I also had an active role on site dealing with queries and travelling to site to inspect work at various stages of the build. I also occasionally surveyed some of the smaller sites prior to developing the sketch scheme. With my IT background I also provided ad-hoc IT support to the staff in the office.

During my time here I progressed to Design Engineer and finally onto Department Manager running a team of 10 staff, producing industrial laundry equipment from initial conception through design and onto full scale production and worldwide delivery.I also provided technical support for engineers worldwide regarding the machines built at the factory. I was also the department purchaser and stock controller. Another part of my job was marketing the company with the task of bringing in new customers, thus expanding the client base.
