Senior leadership member of Forest City’s East Coast Development team, primarily responsible for launching development of the office components of The Yards, a burgeoning mixed-use 48 acre neighborhood in Washington, DC being developed through a public-private partnership with the United States General Services Administration, while continuing to oversee development of a major mixed-use project in East Baltimore, MD.• Drove a master planning process for “Yards West” that established guidelines for the urban character and public realm of the second phase of the project;• Attracted and negotiated a lease with a 285,000 SF office tenant that is enabling development of the first significant office building at The Yards;• Held primary responsibility for oversight and implementation of the GSA-Forest City Development Agreement and managing the GSA relationship; • Continued leadership of the development team for the Science + Technology Park at Johns Hopkins in East Baltimore, completing a second life science research/office building as well as the 5 acre Eager Community Park, and negotiated with the City and local stakeholders a nine-year extension of Forest City’s development rights;• Following Brookfield’s acquisition of Forest City in late 2018, coordinated the transfer of key institutional knowledge regarding The Yards to Brookfield’s DC-based development staff before separating in June 2019.

Key member of the team that expanded Forest City’s reach into the Science + Technology sector, expanding on the success of University Park at MIT in Cambridge, MA while launching and delivering projects in Philadelphia, PA, Baltimore, MD, and suburban Chicago, IL. • Collaborated with MIT to secure rights to an additional parcel adjacent to University Park, and led the development process for 300 Massachusetts Avenue, a life science research facility that is the fourth building in University Park fully leased to Takeda (previously, Millennium Pharmaceuticals).• Held primary responsibility for planning and development of the Science + Technology Park at Johns Hopkins in East Baltimore, leading a team that completed the initial 285,000 SF life science building, maintained momentum through the recession by securing and delivering on fee-development responsibility for a new State of Maryland Public Health Laboratory established at the Park, and engaged local developers to complete key residential components of the plan, all in support of Forest City’s role, in partnership with local minority developers, as Master Developer for the New East Baltimore initiative;• Led a development team that in partnership with the University of Pennsylvania, converted and expanded an abandoned industrial facility to establish the Penn Translational Research Laboratory; • Assisted with the planning and development of the Illinois Science + Technology Park, a repositioning of a formerly fenced-off, one-company pharmaceutical campus into a multi-tenanted, landscaped science park fully accessible to employees, residents and visitors in the Village of Skokie.

Led the teams that developed the commercial components of Phases III and IV at University Park at MIT, while joining with other senior members of the team to launch a strategic planning process focused on collaborating with institutional partners to develop mixed use, science and technology -focused projects proximate to academic or medical campuses. • Secured a 200,000 SF lease with Millennium Pharmaceuticals for the first two truly purpose-built life science buildings in the Park.• Built on the success of that experience by directing development for two additional buildings for Millennium, phased for delivery a year apart.• Concurrently, led development teams for two additional buildings, one dedicated to supporting joint MGH/BWH research programs for Partners HealthCare, and the other a new 145,000 SF expansion headquarters for University Park’s very first biotech tenant, Alkermes, while concurrently developing an award-winning 1,000 parking space garage facility.

Initially retained by Forest City in the midst of the real estate/banking recession of the 1990’s, a challenging period for development, with responsibility for leasing and property management of the first three completed office/research buildings (350,000 SF) at University Park @ MIT in Cambridge, MA, while simultaneously laying the groundwork for future phases of development.

Retained as the initial Development Project Manager in a newly-established company focused on development of the Wannalancit Office & Technology Center, a repurposing of the historic Suffolk Mills in Lowell, MA into 400,000 SF of technology-focused office space. Directly responsible for design and financial management, while collaborating with others on the team for leasing, construction and property management. Subsequently, while maintaining a range of oversight and coordination responsibilities at Dobroth & Fryer, joined with Richard Dobroth in the launch of a new company, Cardinal Properties, which successfully developed and leased one new office building in Centennial Park, Peabody, MA before both companies ultimately succumbed to the financial stresses of the real estate and banking recession of the early-mid 1990’s.
