• Now Immediate Past District Governor for Rotary North East England after recently retiring following a long and varied career in the chemicals, petrochemicals and plastics industries. • BSc Honours graduate (1970) of Liverpool University in Chemistry, • MBA, Chartered Engineer & Member of the Institution of Gas Engineers. • After 3 years with British Gas as Industrial Fuel Utilisation Engineer, his career in the chemical industry began in process engineering, designing thermal fluid heat transfer systems & waste gas incinerators for many of the chemical and petrochemical majors. • Joined the Plastics Division of ICI at Welwyn Garden City, Herts in 1979 in a technical sales role, and worked for ICI for 21 years. • Variety of roles including European Marketing Manager of the Melinex polyester films business, which was sold to DuPont in 1998, and is now part of the DuPont Teijin polyester joint venture. • Since retirement from ICI, Peter continued to work within CEM Ltd. as a consultant in plastics and chemicals, maintaining his global personal network of contacts in these industries, with a particular interest in the so-called "engineering plastics" and in the recovery and recycling of post-consumer plastic waste. • Sept 2002 to Dec 2006 headed up the SME Centre of Excellence Project, while achieving an MBA in Strategic Marketing. • Jan 2007 appointed Business Services Manager of CPI, working primarily on developing the Flexible Electronics Technology Platform. • Left CPI in mid 2008 to concentrate on developing CEM Ltd and planning for retirement from paid employmentSpecialties: • Petrochemicals and plastics, Major project management, sales & marketing, combustion & heat transfer, power technology and noise control systems.• Exceptional strategic, conceptual and analytical thinking, I.T. and interpersonal skills. • Experience with multi-cultural & multi-lingual teams
