• Lead the pre-construction portion of all contracting work at Building Up including leadqualification, estimating, scheduling, negotiating, and developing kick-off plans for all projects.• Support in the development, implementation and training of new systems and processes that supportthe effectiveness and efficiency of the contracting team.• Support the General Manager in providing mentorship to existing teammates, and trainees as theydevelop in their roles.

Over my years at Black & Veatch I worked on a number of interdisciplinary projects that allowed me to gain valuable practical experience in the preliminary and detailed design, as well as construction of large municipal infrastructure projects, including: • Integrated Pumping Station Project (City of Toronto)• M&T Pumping Stations Critical Repairs (City of Toronto)• Sewer Rehabilitation Program (City of Toronto)• Coxwell Bypass Tunnel (City of Toronto)• Project Management Office Renovation (City of Toronto) The IPS project and M&T Critical Repairs allowed me the work on the design and construction of new and existing pumping stations at Ashbridges Bay Treatment Plant (ABTP) in a process mechanical/project engineer focused role. The Coxwell Bypass Tunnel involved me in the design and construction of municipal sewers, tunnels and shafts. The PMO exposed me to site inspection and contract administration for a building renovation at ABTP. My responsibilities across all these projects generally included:• Construction site inspection and contract administration• Preparation of detailed design drawings and specifications• Production of preliminary and detailed design level technical memorandum• Production of preliminary design and detailed level cost estimates• Project documentation and coordination

Developed and maintained a tool to monitor and track utility usage (hydro, natural gas, water, steam, CO2, wastewater) at both Steam Whistle locations (Round House and Evans Ave.). Managed process for updating this tool on a regular basis. Other responsibilities in this role included:• Determining measurement points and frequency of measurement for each utility • Integrating production volumes and schedule into tool • Training team members on updating/using tool • Analyzing data and identify areas of opportunity • Working with utility providers to improve visibility and access to data • Correlating tool with monthly financial results to help explain variances

• Delivered lab portions of the Construction Materials and Testing course, which is part of the Civil Engineering Technology program at Durham College• Prepared lab session materials• Graded student assignments

• Worked with a team tasked to develop a nanomaterial-based point-of-use water filter.• Wrote clear and concise technical documents for all experiments to be used for the duration of the project.• Wrote weekly updates to supervising professor, received feedback on most recent work and applied feedback from Professor and other supervisors to the research.• Presented findings to colleagues and other researchers through PowerPoint and poster presentations.• Maintained an awareness of new developments in water treatment technology through reading technical journals and sharing articles with peers.

Honed excellent skills in multi-tasking and prioritizing, graduating with Honours. • Mediated many issues to resolution between roommates and resident’s providing coaching on effective communication.• Provided peer counselling for first year students living in residence.

• Annually presented to newly elected hall councils providing training on running effective meetings, organizing and advertising events.• Acted as an adviser to the 2011-2012 Inter-Residence Council and Gardner Hall council.• Held regular weekly office hours.
