About Peter Nichols, Cfa, Acma Cgma
As a fixed income portfolio manager my focus is on market dynamics, portfolio strategy, interest rate hedging, portfolio surveillance and trade execution. Joining Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS / Natwest Group) in 2008, at the start of the Great Financial Crisis, I transferred to Citizens in 2011 as one of the top performers of the RBS Finance Graduate program. During my 10+ years with Citizens I supported the largest commercial bank IPO in US History, and more recently experienced the unique challenge of managing the banks investment portfolio and interest rate risk positioning through the COVID pandemic. Rewarded for high performance, I spent the first 8 years at Citizens progressing from Asset Liability Management (ALM) Analyst to the Head of ALM Balance Sheet Modeling. This progression was built on the back of my passion for process engineering, project delivery, complex financial analysis and colleague development. My transition to the Treasury Portfolio and Institutional Hedging Group has allowed me to add front office desk experience, in particular building out the banks CLO portfolio.
