Before leaving helped train a new hire for this same job.-Took part in planning and implementing the management of PII to achieve HIPAA compliance.-Worked on a Node.js backend using the Restify framework (a lightweight version of Express) modifying and implementing various endpoints.
  • Signal Io
    Engineer
    Signal Io Apr 2017 - Jun 2017
Directly after graduating from Bradfield I temporarily worked on contract for Signal IO while looking for more permanent work. Signal's goal was to build collaborative coding tools that would enable teachers to get a better understanding of what topics their students were struggling with. As one of two engineers trying to build Signal IO's first product I was heavily involved in making decisions around what the product would look like as well as building full features from scratch. We were working with potential clients daily so I would often have to build out a feature demo on only a few hours notice. I primarily wrote JavaScript within the Electronjs framework to build plugins for the Atom code editor.

    Earnest Inc. Jun 2016 - Aug 2016

Streamlining the production deploy process and taking the burden of deploying off the Infrastructure team.

  • Abts Non-Bank Financial Institution
    Intern
    Abts Non-Bank Financial Institution Apr 2015 - Jun 2015
Through Shultz Global Investments I was connected with a medium size micro-finance group operating out of Ulaanbaatar Mongolia. For three months a lived in Ulaanbaatar working for ABTS, primarily as loan reviewer, I also ended up teaching tri-weekly English classes for the ABTS staff. As a loan reviewer, my worker primarily consisted of visiting a business to verify the information they had provided to us and creating a loan summary to be reviewed by the board. While in Mongolia I also volunteered for a conservation group trying to find the Saker falcon reproductive rate in the area. The reproductive rate data was used to develop a sustainable rate of export for saker falcons from Mongolia. As a volunteer, I would visit Saker nests to tag newborn falcons and collect a DNA sample which allowed us to track the Saker population throughout multiple generations.
  • Onehope
    Technical Intern
    Onehope Aug 2014 - Dec 2014
    Pompano Beach, Florida, Us
Worked as a technical intern for OneHope ministries in Lebanon and Turkey:In Lebanon, I worked with a OneHope partner called 'Just for Kids' that worked with schools and refugee camps to teach kids about hygiene and other basic life skills. We would also distribute the 'Book of Hope' which is a picture book that tries to convey the message of Christianity without words. Specifically, while there I built a website for kids to go to after attending our event, the website mainly consisted of games around the material we presented. I created all these games from scratch and came up with creative ways to relate the games to the material that was presented. When we would visit Syrian refugee camps I would help with setting up the event, capturing video and photos to be relayed to donors, and interacting with the kids. When I was in Lebanon they sent me to Turkey for a month to help another partner (Kucak) build a website. While in Turkey I lived with a family in Ankara and built Kucak a website that allowed them to post their books and lecture material online.
