Judicial law clerk to the Honorable Charles P. Kocoras of the United States District Court in the Northern District of Illinois. I drafted numerous decisions in civil cases, including those involving complex commercial disputes, breach of contract issues, evidentiary matters, intellectual property, constitutional issues, and complex insurance disputes. I supported Judge Kocoras on his twice-weekly court calls, and I gained a strong familiarity with the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and the local rules of the Northern District of Illinois.

Student law clerk at Teller Levit & Silvertrust, a general commercial litigation firm. In this role, I drafted motions to dismiss and affidavits. I also conducted legal research for the partner level and associate attorneys.

I was a member of the patent clinic providing pro bono legal assistance to the patent owner. In this role, I analyzed a software technology and helped draft a patent owner response brief in an inter partes review action. I interviewed the patent owner on various occasions and helped devise the strategy before the PTAB. For other patent owners, I conducted prior art searches to help determine the validity of medical devices.

I was a former judicial extern for Judge Kocoras. In this role, I drafted judicial opinions for a motion to vacate an arbitrator award, rule 12(b)(6) motions, a motion under 28 U.S.C. § 2255, and an appeal under 28 U.S.C. § 636(b)(1)(A). Based on my work product, Judge Kocoras hired me as his full time clerk upon graduation.

I drafted motions to dismiss and prepared bench memoranda related to preliminary and permanent injunctions. I observed Judge Demacopoulos' court calls, which included status hearing, trials, and settlement conferences in Chambers.

I conducted drills for children to adults and coordinated weekly lesson plans. Former captain and player at Moraine Valley Community College. Helped lead the team to national rankings during my two year career.
