Peter DePaulo is an energetic Founder, Writer, Speaker, and Software Engineer living in the SF Bay Area. Growing up surfing in California, the spark for Innovation was ignited at a young age. By the time he was accepted to UC San Diego's Biochemistry program (#1 in the world for Biochemistry and surf) at 16 years old, he was a Junior in college.After graduating, his first startup was acqui-hired into an EduTech startup. They were in the FA13 cohort of Stanford's StartX program for entrepreneurs. At Stanford, Peter led cross-functional teams of professors and staff of the institution. He presented on EduTech and Improving Student Outcomes at the Stanford GSB.After helping his friend found Viking Education (later sold to Thinkful), he went deeper into Software Engineering. He was an early Ethereum blockchain developer, co-founded a Behavioral Economics collective of Software Engineers, wrote code for wellness at MINDBODY, and led projects in oncology data in precision medicine at Diaceutics, partnering with Intel, Pfizer, Merck and Roche to name a few.He presented the team's AI clustering models of cancer biomarkers at UCSF Medical School, Harvard and to the BROAD institute. It was at this time that Tyler Capps invited him to write articles on Behavior for a small project that would later be called Sophonaut.Next was NEAR Protocol, the developer friendly blockchain. He took the helm of Developer Relations. The cryptocurrency he helped bring to market was at its peak of a $20 billion dollar market cap when he raised $1.5 million to found Satori, the NFT company for helping artists. This is when he faced the greatest challenge of his career: burnout.He left his company to a friend and went into a deep recovery period. He realized that his career was one relentless pursuit after another: sprinting and burning out. Having written about Behavior for prior three years, he dove full time into improving the lives of others. Now, he serves as co-founder and Head Maverick of Sophonaut! Helping people avoid the vicious cycle that the world cheers on.Outside the office, he meditates, surfs, makes music, plays games, and spends quality time with his wife Kiran and dog Bosco.
