Peter Raymond is a senior advisor to commercial and public sector clients on infrastructure, digital technologies, smart city development, and related financial services. He serves also as a Senior Associate at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) on these topics. Peter formerly served as Global Advisory Leader of PwC's Capital Projects & Infrastructure (CP&I) Practice. The practice advises on some $100 billion in capital programs, bringing expertise in the development, finance and delivery of capital projects, infrastructure, digital and smart city technologies. Clients included major utilities, transportation companies, oil & gas companies, manufacturers, technology and telecommunications companies, investors, multi-lateral banks and government entities. Between 2016 and 2017 Peter also served as COO for PwC’s China Consulting Practice and served as the firm's advisory point partner for the Asia Infrastructure Investment Bank. Between 2006 and 2016 Peter conceived, built and led PwC’s Public Sector Financial Services (PSFS) practice. During the US financial crisis, Peter led the practice on a wide range of assignments for the US government supporting numerous financial stabilization and intervention programs, including the TARP program. The practice now advises on programs addressing more than $3 trillion in government lending, guarantee, asset management and investment initiatives and on the operation of financial sector regulators. He also served as PwC’s lead client service partner for the World Bank Group.Based in McLean, VA, Peter has more than 30 years experience in the US and internationally. He was recognized as a Top 25 Consultant by Consulting Magazine for his work during the US financial crisis. He has authored numerous pieces on infrastructure and finance and has appeared on TV and radio. Peter holds a Doctorate degree from Johns Hopkins University's School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), a Masters degree from Georgetown University, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Union College.
