A seasoned, hands-on PM with strong project and programme management skills backed up by deep IT management expertise with the underlying infrastructure including platforms, systems and applications. I’m practiced with the human and IT demands of Business Process Change and Transformation, and with IT infrastructure management over 35+ year career (15 within a major utility, SSE).Since 2011 I've worked at senior PM level to re-engineer business processes and IT systems, manage and implement large scale infrastructure to support internal transformation, research and deliver end-to-end solutions by applying tailored technical design skills and techniques, and design and implement IT asset management initiatives. Prior to 2011, I've extensive IT manager experience at SSE, where I led a 70-person team supporting technical services delivery throughout southern England, Wales, and Scotland, planned and delivered enterprise-wide solutions and services to meet business operational strategies with emphasis on cost containment, results, and lifetime cost of ownership.As a result of having managed extensive IT infrastructure as well as managing large scale projects, I bring strong business acumen and an in-depth understanding of all key IT and business principles and processes. I'm skilled at team leadership (having managed teams of up to 70 resources), at high level stakeholder management and negotiation, and have a proven track record of delivering and managing IT solutions that drive business transformation. To a solid technical background I add resourcefulness, focus, a strong work ethic, judgement, and the flexibility to work with cross functional experts on complex re-engineering engagements as well as on self-contained initiatives.Having worked continuously for 35 years I took a brief break in 2014 (Jul - Dec) to spend time with my family before starting a 2 year contract PM role at Islington Council.
