Supervise prevention specialists; work with schools and community agencies to implement prevention initiatives, coordinate Orange County Prevention Coalition; active in other community initiatives including Red Ribbon, Gangs Task Force, Alcohol Awareness and others. Implemented fund raising initiatives and provided education to prospective addictions counselors and counselors seeking re-certification.

Valley View Hours, Inc. was a private, residential substance abuse treatment facility located in a resort setting, atop of a mountain in the Catskill Mountain Region of New York State. Population served included a 24 bed residential adolescent program and a 120 bed adult chemical dependency residential treatment program including acute detoxification from street drugs, prescription medication, and alcohol. The facility accepted referrals from a number of major employers including the United States Postal Service, New York City Police, New York City Transit, and General Motors. Payment was either through health insurance provided by the employers and/or through self pay. Valley View did not participate in the Medicaid or Medicare Programs. It was Accredited by The Joint Commission and did receive Accreditation with Commendation for an assessment and treatment planning process that I developed and implemented with my team. I reported to the CEO. Valley View has since closed and ceased to exist as a treatment provider.

Rockland Psychiatric Center (RPC) provides treatment, rehabilitation, and support to adults 18 and older with severe and complex mental illness. Located in Orangeburg, NY, RPC shares a multi-service campus with other state and voluntary agencies. Included on this 600-acre campus is the Nathan Kline Institute (NKI), a distinguished OMH research facility affiliated with the New York University Department of Psychiatry.RPC is part of a cooperative network of county, voluntary, and state mental health providers serving Rockland, Westchester, Orange and Sullivan Counties, and parts of New York City. This network offers an array of clinical, social, residential, vocational, educational and case management services specializing in intermediate and extended inpatient treatment, supportive residential care, and comprehensive community based treatment and support.Responsible for management of a 26 bed male intake/admissions ward. Provided psychosocial support and behavior management to adults with varying degrees of mental illness. Dispensed medications, implemented patient care plans, worked with patients and their families, provided both verbal deescalation and physical restraint and/or seclusion when needed for patient safety. Responsible for admitting patients to the unit 24/7 which included safety search of patient belongings and complete visual search of patient person (patient disrobed) and contacting physician for direction in the event contraband was found or suspected. Documented all activities in patient medical record.
