PETER EVERETT is Vice President of Anti Trafficking Bureau, a Nonprofit organization in the Dominican Republic, where he is committed to building a comprehensive model of inter-governmental cooperation as the effective solution to the global problem of human trafficking. He has extensive experience in the non-profit sector in the area of anti-human trafficking efforts, in both fundraising and project management.Between 2009 and 2015 Peter led a growing team in the US as COO of Destiny Rescue USA. Travelling extensively in the US speaking on the topic of human trafficking, he was instrumental in raising over US$7,000,000 towards anti-trafficking efforts around the world, as well as building a solid reputation for the organization and a donor base of over 10,000. He also spent time working with the organization's Southeast Asia projects doing investigation work in key red-light districts, with focused efforts on identifying victims of child sex trafficking. In 2015 he moved to the Dominican Republic to spearhead Destiny Rescue's first project in the Americas. He led a team of Dominican nationals and US volunteers in establishing the country's first safe home specifically for child victims of sex trafficking and sexual exploitation. Peter led the process of forming comprehensive operational agreements with various government agencies including CONANI (Child Services) and the Attorney General's office specializing in the combat of trafficking in persons and illicit trafficking of migrants. During his time as Country Director for the Dominican Republic project, Peter spearheaded inter-governmental collaboration with federal investigators and local law enforcement in numerous areas of the country, planning field operations, negotiating with traffickers and overseeing intelligence and evidence gathering that led to the prosecution of a number of trafficking and sexual exploitation cases.
