• Measure air quality using personal ozone meters and Environmental Beta-Attenuation Mass Monitors to address concerns about particulate matter from buses arriving at the monument and ozone pooling
• Implementing scientific literacy programs to educate the public on environmental issues and activism, including the development of a plant phenology citizen science protocol for volunteers to assist in monitoring each.
• Survey and treat invasive plant species (Bull Thistle, Common Mullein, Cheatgrass, Western Salsify) to aid in improving biological diversity
• Monitoring the behavior and prevalence of small mammals, especially Belding’s Ground Squirrels which suffered a massive population decline throughout the Eastern Sierra Nevada Mountains due to burrows flooding in 2017

Wertheim National Wildlife Refuge

Internship through the Student Conservation Association as a Biological Intern with the United States Fish and Wildlife Service. I am developing a forestry inventory of the Wertheim National Wildlife Refuge in Long Island, New York with a biological technician and a fellow biological intern. Throughout the summer I will also be assisting in pre-monitoring.
