Senior Sourcing Engineer
Current• Responsible for providing cost, operational, and supply support for Microsoft’s Azure Datacenters globally, ensuring datacenter clusters, racks, and individual server nodes maintain in-service capacity at or above contracted Service Level Agreements. This involves collaborating with teams such as Cloud Operations & Infrastructure, Quality, Finance, Planning, Procurement, Si & Cloud Hardware Engineering, and Sourcing.• One of my primary internal customers is Azure Specialized Compute, supporting Microsoft's expansion of AI-focused hardware centered around GPU development.• The role involves managing supplier relationships for spare parts and warranty support, focusing on GPU System Integrators during various stages of rack deployment to ensure consistent supply, quality goals, and efficient spending.• Ensure availability of adequate spare stock at each datacenter by working closely with GPU suppliers and System Integrators on forecasting, purchasing, and repair cycle times within agreed service levels.• Responsible for negotiating annual warranty extensions with System Integrator for support beyond the standard 3-year warranty period for production racks.• Negotiate quarterly spare part pricing for all server node components with System Integrator including GPUs which comprise most of our spare parts spend.
