Each financial institution (State Street, JP Morgan, CIBC Mellon, etc.) sends its own Microsoft Excel file documenting fees it’s paid to BlackRock. BlackRock requested me to consolidate the data from these disparate sources into a unified source, on which it could do analysis. • VB.Net Developer: Designed Excel VBA programs, later upgraded to VB.Net 2010, to extract data from myriad Excel sources into standardized data format. Combined sources from a dozen financial institutions into a uniform data text format.• SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services): Having rendered Excel sources into finished text files, used SSIS to migrate text into SQL Server. Accumulated sources from dozen clients resulted in over eight-hundred thousand records. SQL code distributes data into one fact table and six dimension tables.• SSAS (SQL Server Analysis Services): SSIS process, above, produces camera-ready data, available for being analyzed and interpreted in SSAS cube.
