Current• Responsible for aligning IT resources with the firm’s business goals, maintaining a full range of systems currently in use, and identifying emerging technologies to ensure top-tier capabilities and a competitive focus. • Maintain a budget responsibility of approximately $450K and manage up to six direct reports, including Systems Administrators and Help Desk Technicians.• Manage numerous vendor relationships encompassing hardware, software, office equipment, and turnkey solutions. Initiate the vendor identification process, negotiate contracts, and complete final vendor selection with companies that include Adobe, AltiGen, APC, Canon, CA Technologies, OpenText, Dell, HP, and Microsoft.• Work closely with executive leadership in the hiring and onboarding of new personnel, provide hiring recommendations for senior staff, and provide hands-on training for employees across the organization.• Guided multiple enterprise conversion projects that included: four major upgrades of the firm’s document management system (DMS), Novell NetWare to Windows Server 2012, Novell Directory Services to Microsoft Active Directory, Novell GroupWise to Microsoft Exchange 2010, multiple ISP conversions, local server storage to Oracle Sun Storage arrays, and Spiceworks to Dell KACE IT help desk.• Successfully addressed challenging data and telecom outages at the firm brought about by rapid growth and expansion. Researched, planned, purchased, and installed a wireless fiber optic bridge in less than one week, to connect a newly acquired building with adequate bandwidth for assigned personnel. Completed the project at 24% below budget and achieved more that 99.99% uptime with the system since 2007.• Worked to convert the company’s legacy HTML-based website to a WordPress CMS platform running on an Apache, MySQL, and PHP web server. Perform regular maintenance tasks, update installations, and complete changes and additions to content, without hiring an outside web developer.
