Bank of America - Data Center Migration ProjectThe project is one of the largest in the industry and is seen as a flagship achievement for Xceed.This entailed a large-scale Transformation and Migrations Programme at Bank of America involving an enterprise-wide transformation programme to turn their legacy midrange physical solutions into an on-demand, software-defined private cloud solution.As a Principal Consultant of Xceed, I have the overall responsibility for the successful execution of data center migration events in a consistent and repeatable fashion. Our Migration Command Center planned and co-ordinated migrations across all 6 lines of business, promoting collaboration but more importantly mitigating risk and maximising time and resources.Responsible for establishing and maintaining the “Migration Command Center” – the Center of Excellence engaged during the lifecycle of a migration event. In particular, providing a “war room” service during migration execution to coordinate team communication, task execution, status reporting, and issue resolution. ► Manage the function to ensure effective execution of migration events.► Participation in pre-migration planning and preparation and post-migration assessment and continuous improvement exercises.► Responsible for day-to-day management of the involved migration team and command center staff.► Identifying and planning for appropriate resourcing required for scheduled migration events.
