Industrial Design ManagerZte Aug 2005 - Aug 2007Shanghai City, ChinaIn this role I led a very small team at the beginning, and more than 20 designers at the ending.In the first half year my team (4 designers including me) was focused on innovation and ACP (Advanced Conceptive Project). We did a pretty good job. We created plenty of concepts and got 10+ patents. One of the concepts were manufactured by ZTE in 2 years, and we got an iF and a red-dot awards.Then I turned to the routine projects. One of the most important and successful was the Vodafone project. Two products for vodafone were sold out more than 5 million.Before I became a design director and the head of UCD Department, I led the design platform group, which was responsible for CMF and 3D modeling. We created a suitable CMF strategy based on ZTE’s customization business.

We developed a detailed questionnaire mixing four parts together, which are demographic variables, lifestyle, aesthetic preferences, and feature preferences. With the help of the agency we surveyed nearly 2,000 users in different cities and the result was very good and useful.

I was one of the first employees in Shanghai. At that time NOVA was the largest design agency of its kind in the greater China region In this role I participated in several 3C product projects and one motorcycle project, and became a design project manager 6 months later.I joined a wonderful promotion activity named DESIGN LONG MARCH in NOVA. It took me and 2 of my colleges 3 months to visit 20+ cities and 50+ universities. We organized many exhibitions and speeches to increase the brand of NOVA in Chinese design industry. The activity was very successful and we got the award from Mr. Chen Wenlong, the CEO of NOVA design.

The BBS and the magazine were very popular in Skyworth R&D center.I got an Excellent Patent Award before I moved to Shanghai.
