Development and guidance of (potential) spin-offs (business planning, contacts with financial partners), screening of poorly performing subsidiaries (business analysis, performance enhancement), acting CFO TNO Companies (a.o. speeding up financial statements and annual report 2011, adoption and approval by the Supervisory Board and shareholder; fiscal aspects, enhancing the planning and control cycle, development of cashflow-management, refinancing Holland Metrology Group).

Focus on restructuring and changing the financial position of Holland Metrology Group and its foreign branches (in The Netherlands, Italy, UK and Belgium): a focus on customer satisfaction, appropriate staffing (short and long term), cashflow, M&A activities. Bringing the (large) investment in an unique calibration facility, to generate positive cash-flow. Changing the negative cashflow of the group into a positive one and implementing cash management. Rebuilding confidence of the stakeholders.The limited synergy-potential and a need for administrative simplification, led to the decision to change the governance and bring the subsidiaries of Holland Metrology directly under TNO Companies. So eliminating holding company Holland Metrology and own position as CEO.

Main activities: realization of innovation-projects for our customers by employees in the three Business Units (300 fte’s), and for various supporting activities (facilities, real estate, legal, ICT). Performance was boosted by several change programs, e.g. professionalizing project management, quality management (e.g. ISO-certification).

Responsible for Finance (Control & Accounting) as well as other supporting activities at TNO ICT (facilities, real estate, ICT, quality and legal). Main task was to upgrade level of Business Control (people, processes) and to professionally support the management in growing business, growing customers satisfaction and net-result. Special achievements are the development of the new housing for the office in Groningen (80 fte’s), ISO certification and sale of spin-offs.

Several positions at this listed telco. Main theme in activities was settingup Busines Control with a real business orientation and so supporting management indoing business from a sound economic perspective.
