I am a very experienced architect with an additional town planning qualification. I have been a partner in a small architectural practice for over 32 years. The majority of my 44 year post graduate career has been devoted to designing and constructing large scale housing projects up to £25m in value. As well as social housing and private housing projects I have also been involved in student and key worker housing, schools and community projects. Our projects have been located mainly across Greater London and the South East of England, but also further afield. Many have been in Conservation Areas and some have involved the restoration of listed buildings. We have a high success rate with planning applications.Increasingly we have been involved in the low energy construction techniques. This led to our collaboration with a German architect in 2009 and the establishment of Passivhaus Design Solutions Ltd intended to import Northern European building techniques to the UK. We have had an involvement with twelve PH projects here and in Germany. In December 2011 our entry in the BRE Passivhaus Competition was shortlisted among 6 finalists - proof of our technical competence in this area. Our PH flats for Dacorum received a Herts Assoc of Architects Award in November 2015. We completed the PH Retrofit of a house in North Hertfordshire nearly 4 years ago and are working on new PH projects now.I acted as an Architect Assessor for the Civic Trust Awards from 1999 and as RIBA East Regional Awards Chairman between 2001-2012. I served on the Development Committee of Aldwyck Housing Association for 2 years. I was also Chairman of Mulligan House - a homeless person`s hostel - in St Albans for 10 years. I am on the Advisory Management Committee of Letchworth Heritage Foundation.Specialties: High quality housing and house design, town and neighbourhood planning and urban design, low energy buildings and Passivhaus,
