With a PhD in Molecular Biology, Peter held various scientific and marketing positions in the invitro diagnostic & medical industry. As a health writer and speaker he has written many clinical articles and has given numerous talks on various health topics.In 2011, he was diagnosed for cancer, and started practicing yoga and mindfulness to recover and heal from the disease and treatments. After a year practice his health had dramatically improved. This gave him a new sense of purpose. "To train and empower people to improve their physical and mental health through yoga & mindfulness". In 2014 he started his own health company Life-Force Yoga & mindfulness.In 2014 he participated in a yoga retreat for cancer patients, held at the famous Kaivalyadhama institute in India. One of the oldest and most traditional schools of yoga in the world and also the first to do scientific research on the health benefits of yoga for cancer patients. This unforgettable experience helped him find his true purpose, promoting yoga as an evidence-based complementary mind-body method for cancer patients. In 2016 he started special classes for people suffering from cancer or chronic illness. In 2021 he started a teacher training for experienced yoga teachers, Healing & Recovery Yoga for Cancer. The training has been fully booked for the 3rd year in a row. After successful completion, yoga teachers become member of a quality register (kwaliteitsregister yoga bij kanker) and will then also be admitted to the IKNL verwijsgids kanker."My purpose in life is to build a bridge between conventional and mind-body medicine, e.g yoga & mindfulness."

De Stichting Yoga en Kanker heeft als doel om in Nederland en België de kennis, bekendheid en kwaliteit van yoga bij kanker te bevorderen: 1. Kennis en bekendheid te bevorderen van de gezondheidseffecten van Yoga tijdens en na behandeling van kanker - bij artsen, zorgverleners en het algemene publiek. 2. Kennis en kunde te bevorderen bij yogadocenten voor het geven van yoga bij kanker. Een belangrijke taak van de stichting is het beheren van een kwaliteitsregister van gekwalificeerde yoga docenten die yoga geven aan mensen met of na kanker. Hierdoor voldoen de yoga docenten aan hoge kwaliteitseisen en kunnen mensen met/na kanker, artsen en zorgverleners vertrouwen op de kwaliteit en veiligheid van de yoga. Deze yoga docenten worden automatisch opgenomen in de Verwijsgids Kanker van Integraal Kankercentrum Nederland (IKNL).
