Technical Architect for a $39 million Insurance System (Globex) based on Microsoft Technologies and integrated into EDC’s Enterprise. When launched in 2004, the system received over 10,000 transactions from the IBM zSeries mainframe each day and processes over 100,000 page requests every week. Due to the nature of an insurance system, each request is highly complex. The system has 300+ database tables; 4,500+ stored procedures; 100+ DLLs. My favourite project was developing an Asynchronous Messaging System (EMU) in 1997 for EDC that 15 years later was still actively used for custom applications on zSeries and Intel servers!In addition to EDC, also worked as a software consultant with ISS for NY Stock Exchange to develop a Report Generation System (RGS) to allow security personnel to access building security entries. Responsible for product management of Corel CD Creator (Win/Mac); Corel All-Movie Guide (Win/Mac); CorelSCSI; and others. Corel All-Movie Guide even included an online store in the mid '90s! Sat on the OSTA committee to determine a defacto standard for CD packet recording. Spoke at some conferences. Heavily involved in usability testing to ensure the success of each product. Corel CD Creator was sold to Roxio in 1996 and the product was then imbedded into Windows XP.

Began as a Software Engineer for a CASE tool that took designs from a Macintosh and generated 4GL and DBMS Schemas on OS/390 and VMS. Later moved to the field as a System Engineer working with many large Enterprise customers, such as EDC, Dofasco, UofO, StatsCan, Industry Canada, Transport Canada, NB Power, Gov't of NS, etc. As an Account Manager was responsible for ensuring that each account used Software AG products and services to their best advantage.

I was hired into Dofasco's graduate training program that allowed exposure to several departments. Developed a system for production reporting of Dofasco's new continuous cast steel. System Analysis in Central Shipping. Worked with the Quality Information System (QIS) team to enable tracking and analysis of production information into Software AG's DBMS.
