For the past 20 years I have been working in the field of information technology, and the field is always changing. If you don't continue to learn about new technologies, you'll inevitably become less and less effective at what you do. I've implemented and supported a wide range of technologies. I'm very good at learning new systems, whether it's changing an application server's database from Oracle to SQL Server; transitioning systems to a virtualized environment, or setting up a web server in the cloud. I'll always figure out a solution to a problem, and I'll never say "That's not my job". The administrative system uses Datatel Colleague release 17, utilizing Unidata and Oracle databases. The administrative software and database run on a HP 9000 with HPUX 11 as the O/S. My job was to oversee the transition from a much older, and highly customized, version of Colleague (version 9) to the current version 17. The older version of Colleague ran on a Prime 6350, utilizing Prime Information as the database. The operating system was Primos. I managed customizations to the administrative system, as well as day to day operations. My responsibilities also included database administration.
