I was a customer service representative for several organizations including, Boston Financial Data Services, UMass Memorial Medical Center, and Alegeus Technologies. My responsibilities included filing documents, handling consumer inquiries and financial transactions with 529 Plans, proxy voting and tabulation, handling consumer inquiries with real estate investment trusts, medical scheduling and other inquiries, and receiving incoming calls and inquiries for health savings accounts (HSAs), flexible spending accounts (FSAs), Health Reimbursement Accounts (HRAs), and Dependent Care Accounts (DCAs).

I was hired as a .6FTE Spanish teacher for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students. I was responsible for lesson creation, delivery of instructional material, maintaining regular communication with parents, grading, and daily cafeteria and hall duties. In addition, I was responsible for attending periodic faculty meetings and open houses. I also had the opportunity to use the SmartBoard system on many occasions with my students.

I taught five classes of 7th and 8th grade Spanish students. I was responsible for lesson creation, delivery of instructional material, attending periodic department and faculty meetings, grading, maintaining regular communication with parents, and periodic morning and afternoon bus duty. I experimented with the audience response system Turning Point, and I had an advisory group of 11 students which met once every two weeks. I also assisted with MCAS administration and supervision, and traveled with the 8th grade students to Washington D.C. in early June.

I was the 7th grade Spanish Immersion teacher for the 38 students in the program. I taught Science and Geography in Spanish to these students. I was responsible for lesson creation, delivery of instructional material; attending periodic team, faculty, and department meetings; maintaining regular communication with parents, grading, and collaborating with other colleagues, and attending open houses and other school events. I used the audience response system “e-instruction” on a regular basis. I also monitored and supervised a home room as well as the MCAS examinations.

I taught five Spanish classes to sixth and seventh grade students at Marlborough Middle School. In these five classes, I was responsible for lesson creation, delivery of instruction material, implementation of the existing curriculum, and attended open houses and other school events. In addition, I assisted with a Title 1 Mathematics class, an ESL Mathematics class, an ESL English class, and the Modern Dance activity. I also attended periodic faculty and department meetings. I also took two courses about the use and merits of the “e-instruction” audience response system, and later used it in my classes. In addition, I assisted with MCAS administration and supervision, the after school Spanish club, and with morning and afternoon bus duties.

I taught 5 Bilingual/ESL classes to non-native speakers of English. I taught Algebra, Geometry, Health, and Science. I was in charge of developing and maintaining a customer base for credit card processing, payroll, and other merchant services. I sold and serviced new equipment and software, and trained business owners and their employees on the proper use of the equipment and the correct procedures to follow.

I was a Spanish and ESL teacher for eight years. I developed and implemented lesson plans, designed curricula, taught 4-5 classes, gave extra help, and evaluated student performance. I also maintained regular communication with other staff members, as well as parents and guardians on student progress. During my tenure, I was a dorm parent, an assistant basketball coach, class advisor, school photographer for special events, weekend activities leader, ski club advisor, racquetball activity leader, advisory leader, summer landscaping worker, and discipline committee member. In addition I was a leader on trips abroad with students to Spain, France, Italy, and Greece in 1996, 1999, 2000, 2001.
