I founded the Centre for Business Innovation Limited to apply lessons our team have learned over 20 years about creating and managing collaborating corporate communities.Our mission is to "Create Value Adding Communities". By night and for fun I created Connected Cambridge which is a Networking organisation focussed on Cambridge UK where people meet physically and in cyberspace to exchange ideas, contacts, inspiration and introductions. We run events for entrepreneurs, finance directors and employers/employees as well as 'all welcome' networking. Our mission is social rather than for profit and helped by volunteers and sponsors we have also set up peers in tech hot-spots around the world in the same format. As its first CEO and over 8 years I grew this into one of the world's leading business networking communities. Profitable and 100% funded by subscriptions from its 1300 members which included: ARM, University of Cambridge, Microsoft, Cambridge Silicon Radio, BT, Nokia, Philips, WL Gore, Johnson Matthey and Motorola. I created the 'Cambridge Corporate Gateway; formula and commissioned sophisticated software to support the changing needs of our community laying on networking, finance raising, corporate introduction and special interest group events. Helped by these tools we catalysed $multi-million investments and created our own $million training business (The Learning Collaboration of which I was a director).

I turned this UK Government think tank into a membership organisation running blue-chip consortia in knowledge-management, smart tags, genomics, travel information, fuel cells, intangible assets, GMOs and environment. Today the formula we developed here lives on in CfBI (see above)

I ran the business in Germany and subsequently led the Business Innovation division in the UK winning assignments with blue chip companies across Europe.

From my base in Germany, I managed a wide range of factory automation products and projects based on Machine Vision and IoT across Europe.
