If you hire the wrong person for the job, or if you have the wrong person doing the hiring, you might hand some big advantages to your competitors. You don't want to waste time and money during a crucial moment for your company. ⚡Here are 3 areas to help your company thrive consistently, regardless of the economic forecast. ► CULTURE: The single most important thing you can do right now is to TAKE CARE of the people you have. Is your talent engaged, motivated, and in it for the long haul? Or are they overworked or underwhelmed? Hold a Re-engagement Meeting. Demonstrate that you want to know your talent’s mindset and that you HAVE COME TO LISTEN. (This will generate more positive culture than a rah-rah speech).► TIMING: When you are you feeling pressured, either internally or externally, your timing and budget will be critical. Assess whether you are missing crucial people. The person who screens/interviews new talent needs to be able to articulate and sell your culture. Who’s doing your forecasting? How will you meet the demand when your salespeople make a few deals? ► TALENT: Can't afford a new CTO or AI Architect? Consider promoting that great developer to AI Architect. You can find developers all day long, but by promoting from within, you’ve just added more energy to your culture. Make sure your Job Description accurately reflects the culture, talents, and skills that you need NOW - particularly if you found the description online, in a drawer, or tucked in a file!
