I support Sioux CCM with the realization and testing of multiple prototypes and test setups to aid the development of a high-tech system module. In close cooperation with the engineering team and costumer, multiple processes and parts are identified as critical to quality or performance.Dedicated setups are designed, documented and realized for multiple complex measurements. Parts are in the micrometer accuracy scale and fabricated for high surface cleanliness specification, after which they are assembled in the clean room for testing purposes.The goal of these setups and is to identify and measure critical functions and parameters like cleanliness, stiffness and dynamical properties in an early stage of the development process. If required, the engineering team can act in an early phase.

Through Hobotec I offer my (engineering) skills directly to costumers and to other companies. Activities include concept proposal, detailed engineering, design, fabrication and qualification of mechanical and mechatronical (sub) systems.

At Hobo I help out during the evenings or on saturdays when necessary. I perform a large variety of tasks like machinery repairs, designing and fabricating custom (sheet) metal parts, as well as assembly of construction and truck delivery.

Boxtel

At Bosch Rexroth I participated in the multidisciplinary team of the challenging Advanced Driving Simulator project. The system under development is pushing the boundaries in terms of performance and specifications. In this project, I worked on a large, steel sub structure of the system, together with a team of motivated engineers. Concepts have been proposed, evaluated and optimized, after which the structure was designed for optimal stiffness and fatigue stress. In close collaboration with stakeholders and other disciplines, a critical sub system has been developed under challenging circumstances.

Zaltbommel

As a mechanic I helped Dutch Racing Team achieve its goals in the CEV Repsol - Junior World Championship Moto3 class. Furthermore, I engineered improvement parts for the bike when we saw an opportunity or the necessity.

As a mechanical engineer, I helped develop world class (electronic) products. Examples of previous activities include concept proposals and detailed mechanical and thermal design of high end products. For the last two years, the team I participated in developed robotic solutions to fully automate assembly of a product.In order to do so, I designed a modular automation cell consisting of a 6 DOF robot, a generic transport system and interfaces for optional equipments. The cell can be adjusted for specific tasks by adding optional equipments to perform heat staking, glue dispensing or laser marking. By putting multiple cells in line, a solution line is formed, capable of handling all the desired product assembly steps.

This thesis explored a novel motion planning approach for Prodrive Technologies, byformulating a 2 dimensional motion planning problem as an optimal control problem.This problem was solved using the discrete-time PRONTO optimization algorithm.Grade (7/10)

During this 13 week externship at the University of Waterloo in Canada, a brake-bywiresystem was designed to increase vehicle stability and brake redundancy on aChevrolet Equinox test vehicle. This system was fabricated and tested on a brakedynamometer experimental setup. Grade (7/10)

Werkendam

During university breaks I worked on the engineering department of TMS in Werkendam. The work included CAD design using Solid Edge, conventional calculations and FEM calculations using FEMAP. Most times I joined running projects like designs or modifications for offshore cranes and equipment or heavy foundation equipment.

During this internship I participated in the engineering of multiple projects such as pilling/foundation equipment, (offshore) cranes, etc.

Gorinchem

In this thesis, a propeller shaft allignment tool was developed using a Finite ElementMethod, as well as a procedure to properly install the propeller shaft. The developedtool and procedure resulted in increased performances and lifetimes of ship propulsionsystems. Grade (8/10)
