Since 2003 I have worked in Singapore's financial services industry: from 2003-2012 as a journalist at trade publication The Asian Banker (TAB), from 2012 to present as the inaugural head of communications at RBC Wealth Management, and currently at Fitch Group handling APAC media & communications duties for Fitch Ratings, Fitch Solutions & Fitch Learning. Combined with my language skills and creativity, these work experiences have given me an excellent foundation in media (online, print and video), communications and financial services. Working at RBC gave me insights into the inner workings of one of the world's largest financial institutions (currently 12th-largest by market value) and taught me internal and external communications, while eight years at TAB helped me understand a wide range of local and international banks in the regions and the senior personalities that lead them, while also giving me top notch media skills. Now with Fitch Group, I have returned to the world of research that I was a part of with TAB, but interacting with the media in a similar way to what I did when I was at RBC. All of these roles have provided excellent experience managing projects: at TAB I was responsible for publishing 10 regular editions of the print publication a year, and also building the company's online media platform and video library, while at RBC I had the opportunity to launch the bank's partnership with Capgemini on wealth reports (World Wealth Report and Asia-Pacific Wealth Report) in Asia; this meant managing ambitious media launches in both Hong Kong and Singapore twice a year, and also promoting the report internally. Finally, at Fitch Group, I'm heavily involved in promoting a steady stream of daily publications and winning them interest in the media. I have also appeared as a specialist commentator on the BBC (Asia Business Report, World Business Report, BBC World Service), and various CNBC news reports, providing commentary on Asian banking issues.Besides managing a full-time role, I have kept busy with significant projects of my own: in September 2008 my book Asia's Banking CEOs - The Future of Finance in Asia was published by John Wiley & Sons, followed in 2011 by Banks At Risk, also by John Wiley & Sons.
