I’ve built my career on profoundly changing the programs I manage:• Managed the first large-scale dry waste recycling plant accredited by the State of California to reach the goal of having less than 10% recyclable products in the facility’s waste fraction.• Boosted Berkeley’s diversion 50% by creating and executing a unique strategy targeting construction & demolition material;• As its Recycling Manager, helped make San Francisco the first city in the nation to collect food scraps from residents;• Implemented one of the first residential recycling programs in the country to pick up mixed paper in Berkeley during curbside recycling's infancy; I’ve executed myriad plans to bring positive change for difference-making outcomes. This ambition compelled me to be a Peace and Conflict Studies major at Cal, studying ways to convert military bases and firms to non-military pursuits. It continued when I entered the solid waste industry, moving it away from mindless landfilling.
