CurrentAs a founder and organizer of Cyprus Comic Con, I have played an instrumental role in the growth and success of the event. Over the years, the convention has expanded from occupying 500 square meters to 14,000 square meters of event space across three venue changes and now welcomes over 20,000 visitors and more than 300 exhibitors.My responsibilities include managing B2B relationships, marketing, SEO, and advertising for the organization, raising awareness and increasing attendance while attracting exhibitors from outside Cyprus. One result of our efforts is the estimated 4,000 tourists visiting the 2023 event.I play a pivotal role in stimulating the growth of business and industry in the area of pop culture in Cyprus, providing a platform for over 100 independent creators to turn their passion into a career. My networking efforts secure the attendance of celebrity actors, cosplayers, artists, and other creatives from franchises such as Game of Thrones and Star Wars and from companies like Marvel, DC, and Cartoon Network.By exploring and securing ongoing relationships with the biggest local businesses and brands, I ensure strong funding and belief in the event and its ethos. I also take part in leading a team of dozens of local professionals and fans who volunteer to help put the event together each year.I have overseen the expansion of the event to include new sections, such as American-style pro wrestling, medieval, LARPing, and our outdoor music festival. My international networking efforts include scouting and attending other events and trade shows, fostering connections within the industry and communities abroad.Cyprus Comic Con is a passion project for me, standing for total freedom of creativity and expression without borders or boundaries. My mission is to continue to break Cypriot otakus, gamers, and other creatively-minded individuals out of their bedrooms and comfort zones, to connect through immersive, all-encompassing and inclusive events.
