About Peter J. Illig

As a seasoned nonprofit executive, I have spent my career transforming mission-driven organizations through thoughtful leadership and meaningful collaborations.I am passionate about restoring a safe climate for our children and all life on Earth, and therefore proud to be the founding CEO of Restore the Climate (RTC). RTC provides evidence that restoring a safe climate is necessary and feasible. We inform policymakers, advocates, and the public that humanity already has the ability to restore safe CO2 levels by 2050, affordably and safely, by enhancing natural processes.We are developing governance structures to ensure that climate-restoration projects are safe, compliant, socially accepted and scalable for the magnitude of the job. And we are leading efforts to secure funding for solutions.With a strong background in communication, negotiation, and problem-solving, I excel in building partnerships among multiple stakeholders.
