Skilled in assessment, counselling, case management, and research, I've worked in the social work arena for over a decade. I've also been professionally and personally involved in Autism Spectrum Disorders and Developmental Disabilities for over a decade. During the day I work for the Corporation of the City of Windsor as an Ontario Works Caseworker - maintaining a high volume and high needs caseload.After hours, I function as a Registered Social Worker providing counselling/psychotherapy to clients with an emphasis on navigating major life decisions and disruptions. I am also a Certified Personal Trainer and provide personal training, with a special interest in training clients with ASD and Developmental Disabilities. I combine social work and fitness into a an approach I use with both counselling and personal training clientele - believing that the body and mind both impact each other. From a counselling and personal training perspective, I draw heavily from person-centred, strengths based, motivational, and behaviour theories and techniques.I also blog on my website often examining and critically thinking about various aspects of physical and mental health, with the ultimate aim of encouraging others to live a healthier, happier, and more impactful life.
